FAQ – Printed work gloves from Protorio

Depending on the model, the minimum order quantity is between 300 and 500 pairs. Gloves with Gripp Dots – i.e. raised dots on the palm – can be produced from as few as 300 pairs, whilst the nitrile-dipped models require a minimum order of 500 pairs. The exact quantity depends on the chosen glove model and will be confirmed on a case-by-case basis when you make an enquiry.

Protorio manufactures printed work gloves exclusively in Turkey, whilst most other suppliers have their products manufactured in the Far East – for example, in Sri Lanka, China or Malaysia. Manufacturing in Turkey enables shorter delivery routes within Europe, shorter transit times compared with sea freight from Asia, and closer quality control during production. This production location is the key factor distinguishing Protorio from the majority of its competitors in this market segment.

Protorio manufactures every order entirely upon receipt of the order (“made to order”). There is no stock that is produced and printed in advance. This means that every order can be tailored precisely to the customer’s choice of colour, size, material and print design.

Protorio prints on work gloves using digital transfer printing, either as 1-C printing (single colour) or 4-C printing (four-colour/full-colour). This allows for the reproduction of both simple logos in a corporate colour and multi-coloured designs and logos with colour gradients.

Protorio’s digital transfer printing is specifically designed to cope with the high levels of stretching experienced by work gloves and remains elastic without tearing or cracking. This is particularly important for work gloves, as the material is stretched significantly when putting them on and whilst working – a rigid or brittle print would quickly crack in these conditions. Protorio’s elastic print stretches along with the glove material whilst remaining intact. To achieve this, Protorio uses a specially formulated hot-melt adhesive.

Protorio offers work gloves in various material combinations: polyamide with elastane, and polyester with elastane. Both materials contain elastane, which ensures the necessary stretch for a snug fit and high levels of comfort. Furthermore, pure polyamide, pure polyester, cellulose fibre and special cut-resistant yarns are used in Protorio’s printed work gloves.

Protorio is aimed exclusively at business customers (B2B), such as craft businesses, industrial companies, promotional products retailers and organisations wishing to use work gloves bearing their own company logo as personal protective equipment or promotional items. Due to the minimum order quantities, sales to private customers in small quantities are not provided for.

As each order is manufactured individually in Turkey once it has been received, the delivery time depends on production capacity, the model and the colour. The current standard delivery time is usually 4–6 weeks from order confirmation.

The price per pair depends on the model, material, printing method and order quantity. Polyamide gloves with grip dots cost between €3.90 and €4.30 per pair. Polyamide/elastane gloves with a nitrile-coated palm cost between €2.50 and €3.15 per
pair. The unit price falls further for larger order quantities. All prices quoted are net (excluding VAT) and relate to 1-colour printing; a moderate surcharge applies for 4-colour (multi-colour) printing.

and €3.15 per pair. Both prices apply to 1-colour printing on the back of the hand;
a small surcharge applies for 4-colour printing. Which model is cheaper in each individual case also depends on the quantity ordered.

Yes. For larger order quantities, the unit price per pair falls below the price ranges quoted. As Protorio operates with minimum order quantities of 300 or 500 pairs in any case, customers ordering larger quantities benefit from an even lower price per pair than that applicable to the respective minimum order quantity. From 2,500 pairs onwards, there are significantly lower prices for the printed work gloves.

Yes, there is a moderate surcharge for 4-colour printing (multi-colour/full-colour) compared with 1-colour printing (single-colour). All base prices quoted in this FAQ refer to 1-colour printing; customers who require a multi-colour logo or design should factor the surcharge for 4-colour printing into their calculation.
